Segalis Flintlock with flip bayonet

This is a flintlock, box lock early 18th century pistol with an 8 inch barrel and a flip bayonet below the barrel held in place by an unusual bar mechanism, whereas other under barrel bayonets and traditionally held- by a notch in the tripper guard. Israel Segalis was originally from France but emigrated with his family which carried on the unmaking tradition with London addresses of Milk Alley, Green Street and St. Martin in the Fields. The pistol is signed Segalis one one side of the lock and London on the other. action functions perfectly and the bayonet spring and strong and the locking mechanism work as it should. The walnut gip is inlaid with a sine pattern of silver wire all of which is intact. The trigger guard is also engraved.
